Look, I am sick of it. Stop, or I will.

Stop leaving rude comments.

I know I’m a fashion/style blogger, but you know what else I am? Human.

I write all of my content for 3 blogs, posting on a regular basis at least 3 times a week each, which is 9 posts in total.

I have worked hard and scheduled posts up until end of October/November 2010 for ALL THREE of my blogs.

I took all of these outfit posts last year in 2009 and scheduled them so I wouldn’t leave anyone in the loop while real life took over.

I am now working full-time along with a 4-hour commute each week to the client city, and I still have other chores to do at home like cook my lunches and dinners for the whole week, do laundry and clean.

So FORGIVE ME, rude reader Karin, if my toenails and my fingernails were “UNKEMPT” in my last post with my Teal Braided Dress.

Forgive me if your sensibilities about women running around with serviceable toenails and fingernails made you feel the need to bash me on a blog and tell me that since I’m a fashion and style blogger, I should know better.

Why don’t you start a blog showcasing your life and body in detail so I can start criticizing you too?

Let’s make it a 2-way street and see how you feel.

I don’t put much stock into painting fingernails or toenails (in fact, I don’t at all, because it’s something I personally don’t enjoy), and I need to basically crop my fingernails as short as possible because I am an IT consultant.

And what’s so goddamn wrong with natural, unpainted, unpolished nails?

I also don’t wear open-toed anything during the winter (when the pictures were taken), and I don’t wear open-toed anything at work — what’s the point in doing all of that hoopla on my toes if I don’t even let them see the light of day?

Bloggers aren’t faceless, mindless personas

Yeah, I don’t post my real name. But that is really me in my 3 blogs. My personality, my life, my home, my body.

Yes, I invite people to make comments and judge me when I post about anything I think, feel, wear, eat or do.

Yes, I KNOW.

But isn’t there a line somewhere that has to be drawn in terms of civility? Even towards faceless, anonymous bloggers?

I am at the point where I am really going to just delete all wardrobe posts and leave gaps in my schedule.

I am done with feeling attacked each time I put another piece of myself out there (as if talking about my money in detail isn’t enough?), and maybe I’m just too sensitive about it, to be a thick-skinned fashion blogger any more.

The surprising increase in rude comments recently from a wide range of readers is making me seriously think about deleting this particular blog because you’re all right — I can’t handle it any more — the criticism of my lifestyle is one thing, but not myself.

This isn’t doing me any good.

Thanks for passing on the love: :D

Style on a String is a blog about style, not fashion. And style has nothing to do with money. Being chic on a budget is possible when you know what works for you, and only take inspiration from trends if they'll work for you.
